Honey Don't (2025)
Finally got to see this the other night nd I was not diappointed. It is on Netflix and I myself am a Cohen brothers fan, but this is directed by Ethan Coen & it is written by Ethan & Trica Cooke Mr. Coen's wife who has been an a editor of several Coen brother films herself. I expected something else, and was plesently surprised at how the story evolved. With a great cast starring Margret Qually, Aubrey Plaza, & Chris Evans just to name a few the film sails by for its 90 minutes.
I liked the film, but it was not what I had thought it would be about. A who done it I thought, but no it isn't. Its more about Honey & what makes her tick. There is a very erotic scene in the film web which I won't describe or tell you about, but I will say its done tastefully and very much forwards the plot. I rate it up there with the scene in the 1996 movie "Bound" between Gina Gershon & Jennifer Tilly.
To say that the filmmakers leave the audience satisfied would be correct, but along with a smirk and a wink I'd have to say. The performances from all the actors are stellar even the ones that don't have a lot of screen time. The film does not announce its conclusion it just happens, which is a credit to the screenwriters Ethan Coen & Tricia Cooke. See if you like it. Its a quiet gem that came & went, but certainly worth a look.
