They Call Her Death (2025)

Image
They Call her Death is directed by Austin Snell & stars Sheri Rippel , Jeff Boyer , Devan R. Carcia , Dane Shobe , Shawn Nyberg & Jason Puff .  The film "They call her Death" is a throwback to the spaghetti Westerns that were produced in the 1960's in Europe.  Using probably less then a quarter of what original producers spent on such films Austin Snell & his gang pull off a very impressive and loving film to the genre.  The film is shot on 16mm film, with 1960's type camera, but the effects that we don't see are what makes this movie a gem.   Adam Jeffers is the VFX coordinator & producer of this film.  In the making of the film he is interviewed and we see with our own eyes what he needed to do.  The western town that he shot in was a tourists attraction where he had to take out signs, railings, and people wondering into frame.  Talk about a Herculean task somehow Mr. Jeffers did it flawlessly job and to me I saw no mistakes t...

Honey Don't (2025)

Finally got to see this the other night and I was not disappointed. It is on Netflix and I myself am a Cohen brothers fan, but this is directed by Ethan Coen & it is written by Ethan Coen& Trica Cooke Mr. Coen's wife who has been an a editor of several Coen brother films herself.  I expected something else, and was pleasantly surprised at how the story evolved.  With a great cast starring Margret Qually , Aubrey Plaza , & Chris Evans just to name a few the film sails by for its 90 minutes. I liked the film, but it was not what I had thought it would be about.  A who done it I thought, but no it isn't.  Its more about Honey & what makes her tick.  There is a very erotic scene in the film web which I won't describe or tell you about, but I will say its done tastefully and very much forwards the plot.  I rate it up there with the scene in the 1996 movie " Bound " between Gina Gershon & Jennifer Tilly . To say that the filmmakers l...

The Housemaid (2025)

Image
The Housemaid is a sexy thriller laced with dark & paranoia, which comes to a nice and well deserved ending, but along the way watch for those twists and turns that the filmmakers develop.  I thought the movie was treading familiar territory, but there is enough surprises to keep the audie nce guessing.  The film seems simple enough a women wants a Housemaid to help run the house along with her husband ( Brandon Sklenar ) and her daughter ( Indiana Elle ).  The wife is played by Amanda Seyfried and the housemaid is played by Sydney Sweeney  who plays her part flawlessly.  The chemistry between the two leads is dynamic and it sells the movie.  Nina seems a bit spoiled and flawed from what we think we learn in the beginning of the movie.  Millie on the other hand is played as a desperate women who has done bad things in the past & need to succeed.  But what you think that you know turns out to be completely false is the magic of this ...
